NovelGPT is free to download and free to write in. Writing by hand never costs anything. You pay only for AI actions, with credits.

- Free: 1,000 credits every month for the budget and standard AI models at Low or Medium effort.
- Paid plans: every AI model and effort level, and more credits each month.
- Yearly plans: cost about two months less than paying monthly. Credits are still given monthly.
- Plan credits: renew each month and don't roll over.
Credit packs
Need more credits without changing plan? Packs are one-time purchases. Their credits never expire while your account exists, and they unlock every AI model, even on the Free plan.

How credits work
- What an action costs depends on the work: the AI model, the effort level, and how much text is read and written. A short suggestion costs a few credits; drafting a full chapter with a top model costs more.
- You see the cost first. Every AI button shows an estimate before you confirm.
- The order credits are used in: plan credits first, then pack credits.
- Background features show their cost too. Optional features such as story memory show their cost in Settings and can be switched off.
Billing
- Credits and plans are digital and are delivered straight away: they appear in your account as soon as the payment goes through.
- Prices are in US dollars. The App Store and Google Play show prices in your local currency and may include local taxes, so the amount may differ slightly.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account, or to your card for purchases on the web (when available).
- Cancel at any time in your store account. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
